Anyone with an online business knows how important it is to get a lot of traffic to your website. One of the most overlooked factors is the importance of making sure the traffic you are receiving is targeted traffic. This essentially means obtaining the traffic that is directly related to what you are selling and the services you are providing. You want traffic that is looking for what you have. You want traffic that finds value in your information and is likely to purchase your products and/or services. After all, you are investing your time and money in the promotion of your business and website, so it makes sense to try to attract the people who have a genuine interest in what you are offering. Another way to get a great amount of targeted traffic to your website is by article writing. If you write your articles so that they are keyword rich and submit these articles to directories and e-zines, you could potentially have a massive amount of backlinks to your website…hundreds or thousands of them!
Creating advertising campaigns is another great way to drive targeted traffic to your online business. But again, to make sure your campaigns are being directed at the people who are interested in your services and products, you must make sure that you are using keywords that are designed to attract the attention of those potential customers. Take a little time to sit down at your computer, put yourself in your customer’s shoes, and write down all the keywords they may use when they begin to search for what you have to offer.
Create an e-zine of your own, or use other e-zines that are related to your niche to help in your website advertising. If you publish your own e-zine, you will already have a great list of potential customers, so to keep their attention be sure to include new, fresh content in your e-zine. Another great way to keep these potential customers interest in your website is by a giveaway, such as a free e-book or report to those who are willing to subscribe to your website. Just be sure that your website URL is included in all e-zines that you publish.
A greatly under-utilized way of getting targeted traffic to your website is by participating in online groups and forums that are related to your own niche. Forums that are related to your own niche are already full of potential customers. But be aware, most forums do not allow obvious advertising, so you must be sure that your posts in these forums offer advice and information that people are looking for. Your advertising in these forum comes from putting your own website URL in your signature so it shows on the posts you make, not in them!
